Maureen Reed (born April 10, 1953) is a physician who was the chair of the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota, Director of the Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota, and Medical Director and Vice-President of the not-for-profit health care provider HealthPartners. She initially announced that she would run as a Democrat in the sixth congressional district of Minnesota, USA in 2010, but withdrew. ==Early life== Reed was born to a farming family that lost their farm in the Great Depression, and grew up in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, a small rural town in south-western Minnesota, where her mother Rose still lives. Her father worked at the local Ford dealership. She has one sister. She married Jim Hart, and they have lived in Grant, Minnesota since 1982.
